1991. The year ska broke, for me. The discovery of Jump With Joey sent me on a physical hunt for more “Ska” related releases, and it was tough to find, as the internet wasn’t quite there yet. With recommendations at record stores, I started to learn more about some of the current ska and punk bands that were making the circuits. 1991 was also the first year I discovered the zine, Maximum Rock N Roll, introducing me to the world of mail order records. Maximum RNR would prove to be a major source of music discovery for years to come.
